2024 Scholarship Awardees!

The Max Finney Foundation is pleased to announce the awardees for the 2024 Max Finney Foundation Scholarship. This is the sixth year that we have been blessed to be able to bestow these scholarships on these young men. There were so many amazing candidates which gives us great hope for the future! Please join us in heart-felt congratulations and thank you so much for your continued support.

The Max Finney Foundation scholarships are granted to young men who will be attending high quality private education at middle and high schools in the greater Houston area.  These young men should be of sound character, good scholars, involved in the school and community, and exhibit leadership. 

We’re all incredibly excited to engage with these upstanding gentlemen throughout their journey and wish them well in their endeavors.

2024 Scholarship Awardees

NASH

Nash was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is the oldest of seven kids in his family. Nash went to Saint Theresa Catholic School in Sugar Land and he is currently a student at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Nash is passionate about his Catholic faith and grateful for the strong foundation he has received both at home and in his Catholic education. Nash’s favorite subject in school is biology because he finds the human body fascinating and loves learning about how all the body systems work together. Nash keeps busy at school with many activities including the water polo team, altar serving, and playing piano in the jazz band. He will also be joining the ice hockey team next year. Nash is a natural leader and enjoys being able to use his leadership skills to serve others. During the summer, he spends time volunteering and helping hospitalized kids at Texas Children’s Hospital. Some of Nash's hobbies outside of school include hanging out with his many siblings, swimming, playing water polo with his club team, and practicing piano. Nash enjoys hiking and exploring during his family’s many road trips to national parks. One place Nash wants to visit is Rome where he can tour the historic sites, eat the delicious food, and visit Vatican City. Nash has an interest in pursuing a profession in the medical field.

MAX

Max is an eighth grader at St. Anne Catholic School. His favorite class is P.E. because he likes playing sports and hanging out with friends but also enjoys Theology and contemplating the faith. He enjoys watching sports and plays soccer and basketball at his school. He was also part of the St. Anne Drumline and both the fall and spring plays at St. Anne. In his most recent role, he was casted as Timon in The Lion King. In his free time he reads books and plays video games. On the weekends he likes to hangout with his family and cousins. He plans to apply to Frassati and eventually become a pediatrician. Max loves to travel and would like to visit Europe to watch soccer.

JOSEPH

Joseph is a student at Frassati Catholic High School. He plays soccer for his school, and he loves swimming and playing basketball for fun. His favorite subjects in school are math and science because he likes the problem solving aspect of them. He watches his favorite soccer team, Liverpool, play every weekend, and he has been a huge fan of them for years. He loves traveling to visit his family and cherishes the time he gets to spend with them. He’s an only child, and his favorite hobbies are playing guitar, playing various sports such as soccer, basketball, and swimming, and playing video games. He loves being out in nature with his family, and they go camping and hiking together from time to time. He volunteers at animal shelters doing things such as walking the dogs, and is considering becoming a vet when he gets older. He’s interested in going into the medical field in his future, as he has wanted to be a doctor like his dad since he was little.
